If Orange Was A Place. I’ve been listening to that album a lot – it feels very etheric. My mind relaxes and goes into a state of relaxation when I’m listening to it while working. I want to make something that captures this vibe – more the intangible parts than the actual music. What does this mean? The music itself is upbeat, I’m not for vibrant or busy worlds. While the instrumentation is sparse, the songs themselves seem very big and offer a lot of space. This means the voice has a lot of reverb and room to breathe because the beat itself is very bare.
For me, this means an environment where the character is the focus and has a large range to explore. Within this range, there are a lot of interesting things to look at, but none of them take away from the key element which is the character. The world should be uniform in nature, but that nature should be extremely engaging and beautiful. The songs flow together, putting me in the mind of a monochromatic color scheme. What would a monochromatic orange land look like?
Probably looks pretty cool, I’m going to try it with my signature liquid metal look. Let’s see what I come up with.
